France unemployment rises to 3.35 million in Category A

The number of job seekers registered with France Travail who have no professional activity (Category A) rose by 0.9% in the third quarter compared to the second quarter, and by 2.1% over the past year. This represents an increase of 30,400 individuals, bringing the total to 3.35 million.

When including job seekers with reduced activity (Categories B and C), the total number of registered individuals required to seek employment reached 5.85 million, a 2.4% increase year-on-year.

Specific demographic shifts were noted: the number of young people under 25 without activity increased by 2.4% this quarter. Additionally, registrations in the social pathway (Category F) rose by 10.4% to 597,000, largely due to the automatic registration of RSA (Revenu de Solidarité Active) beneficiaries.
