France: Unexploded ordnance discovered in La Hague and Saint-Martin-Boulogne

Two separate incidents involving the discovery of unexploded ordnance have occurred in France.

In La Hague, authorities implemented a security lockdown near the Nez de Jobourg coastal site after a pedestrian discovered an explosive device in a parking area. The municipality has banned all vehicle and pedestrian traffic on the access routes to the headland to allow for bomb disposal and investigation.

In Saint-Martin-Boulogne, construction workers uncovered a World War II-era bomb at a building site on Rue Wicardenne. Emergency responders and bomb disposal experts from Coquelles evacuated six workers from the site and successfully neutralized the device. While work is permitted to resume, technicians are scheduled to return later this week for additional safety checks.
