France: Vacation souvenirs remain popular despite inflation

According to a Vista Print study released in early August, vacation souvenirs remain highly popular among French citizens despite inflation and decreased purchasing power. Approximately 94% of residents report bringing back one or more souvenirs, with 58% stating they do so systematically.

Local food products are the most sought-after items, favored by 61% of respondents. Other popular choices include magnets (40%), artisanal objects (37%), and decorative items (37%). When selecting souvenirs, 68% of vacationers prioritize products that are manufactured locally, followed by quality and price, both at 51%.

Most souvenirs are purchased for others rather than for personal use. Specifically, 58% of French people buy souvenirs for their parents, 37% for friends, and 34% for their children. Only 10% of respondents indicate they purchase souvenirs for themselves.
