Céline Berthon, the Director General of France’s internal security agency (DGSI), has warned that France must prepare for more direct and violent hybrid warfare actions on its territory. This warning follows the discovery of explosive drones at Leipzig Airport in Germany earlier this August. One drone was found near Ukrainian cargo aircraft, while a second reportedly struck a DHL cargo plane, and a third was later discovered in a field near the airport.

Berthon noted that hybrid attacks, which include disinformation and symbolic acts, have increased across Europe since 2022.
