France weather forecast: heavy rain and storms expected

France is expected to experience significant weather shifts following a period of dry conditions. Heavy rainfall, thunderstorms, and potential hail are forecasted for various regions.

Starting Sunday evening, instability caused by the meeting of warm air and an Atlantic anomaly may trigger storms across western France, particularly in Aquitaine and Charentes. These cells could produce intense rain, wind gusts, and hail.

A more substantial weather event is anticipated in the Mediterranean areas. Between Tuesday and Thursday, the Cévennes and Languedoc regions could see between 50 and 150 mm of rain within 48 hours. A secondary, more uncertain scenario suggests even higher totals of up to 250 mm between October 8 and 10, potentially forming a significant Mediterranean weather episode.
