France weather forecast predicts heat and storms

France is experiencing a period of unstable summer weather characterized by alternating heat and storms. Following recent violent thunderstorms, a temporary improvement is occurring, particularly in the southeast where sunshine is returning. However, high humidity levels are maintaining a heavy and muggy atmosphere across much of the country.

Temperatures are expected to rise again, with highs reaching between 28°C and 33°C in many regions. While some areas may see a brief respite from extreme heat, a significant new weather system is forecasted to bring widespread and potentially violent thunderstorms to much of the country by Thursday.
