France wins double gold at European Veterans Jumping Championship

France secured a double gold victory at the FEI Jumping European Championship for Veterans held in Copenhagen, Denmark. The French team won the team gold medal with a final score of 6.22 points, finishing ahead of Italy and Great Britain.

In the individual competition, Elodie Gondailler and her horse, Raf van de Helle, claimed the gold medal. Despite a moment of difficulty where the horse slipped on the grass during the first round, Gondailler completed a clear round to maintain her lead. She followed this with another clear round in the second stage to secure the title. Gondailler, a professional young horse trainer, noted the strong bond with her nine-year-old gelding and expressed pride in the achievement following a difficult year.

Rossella Olgiati of Italy earned the individual silver medal, while Douglas Edward of Great Britain took the bronze.
