France women's volleyball team loses to Italy at EuroVolley

The French women's national volleyball team suffered their first setback in the EuroVolley tournament, losing 3-1 to Italy in Göteborg. Despite having already qualified for the round of 16, the French side faced a significant challenge against the reigning Olympic and World champions.

Italy secured the victory with strong performances from Paola Egonu, who scored 20 points, and Myriam Sylla. France managed to win the second set, fueled by defensive efforts from Juliette Gelin and scoring from Lilou Ratahiry, who replaced Halimatou Bah. Bah was forced to leave the match after sustaining a right ankle injury.

France will play their final group stage match against Sweden on Thursday.
