France's 30 Millions d’Amis Foundation Grants €2.4 million to Over 240 Animal Shelters

The Fondation 30 Millions d’Amis announced a €2,398,112 grant to support 243 independent animal shelters across France. The funding, up by roughly €700,000 from the previous year, will cover veterinary care, vaccinations, sterilizations, food, and building renovations for shelters that are operating beyond capacity – on average housing 79 animals in only 50 available spaces.

President Reha Hutin highlighted the chronic overload of shelters, noting that between 50,000 and 80,000 abandoned dogs and cats await adoption nationwide. The increased financial aid aims to alleviate the strain on these facilities, ensuring essential medical treatment and improving infrastructure for the animals in need.
