France's Agirc-Arrco pension points set to rise after INSEE inflation data

The French National Institute of Statistics and Economic Studies (INSEE) reported a 2 % rise in overall inflation, excluding tobacco. This figure will be used as the reference rate for calculating the next increase of the Agirc-Arrco supplementary pension points.

Under the existing formula, the point value is adjusted by inflation minus a sustainability factor of 0.40 point. With inflation at 2 %, the baseline increase is 1.6 %, but the governing board can adjust the rate within a range of 1.2 % to 2 %.

Negotiations between employer and union representatives are scheduled for October, after which the final rate will be fixed and the corresponding pension payment is expected to be credited to beneficiaries in November, providing a financial boost to roughly 13 million former private‑sector workers.
