France's Conseil d’État annuls sanctions against whistleblower police sergeant

The French Conseil d’État has upheld the annulment of two disciplinary sanctions imposed on police sergeant Amar Benmohamed. Benmohamed had previously reported instances of racism and mistreatment by officers at the Paris courthouse detention center.

The Council’s decision on October 16, 2026, criticized the Ministry of the Interior, which had contested the initial cancellation of the administrative sanctions.
