France's Livret A Savings Rate May Rise to Up to 1.8% in August 2026
The Livret A, France's regulated savings account, has been set at 1.5% since February 2026 after a 0.2‑point reduction. Under the Banque de France’s semi‑annual formula, which combines the average of inflation (excluding tobacco) and the €STR inter‑bank rate, the rate could be revised upward on 1 August 2026.
If inflation rebounds to around 1.7% and the €STR remains favorable, the new rate could range from 1.6% to a possible 1.8%. The Governor of the Banque de France will propose the figure, which must then be approved by the French Minister of the Economy. Any increase would aim to preserve savers’ purchasing power amid rising living costs.
