France's Muslim integration model shows mixed success

Findings from the Pew Global Attitudes Survey suggest that France’s assimilation model may show mixed success regarding Muslim integration, despite criticisms following previous civil unrest in French suburbs.

France hosts Europe’s largest Muslim population, estimated at 5 million people, primarily of Algerian and Moroccan descent. The survey results offer a point of comparison to other European nations, such as Great Britain, where the Muslim population is largely of Pakistani origin, and Germany, where many are of Turkish origin.
