France's nursing assistant training institutes hold graduation ceremony and address admission glitches

On 28 July 2026, the Institut de formation d’aides‑soignants at the Centre Hospitalier de Bourg‑en‑Bresse awarded diplomas to 26 new nursing assistants. The ceremony, attended by families and staff, included remarks from Catherine Ricoux, director of care at the hospital, who praised the graduates for choosing a noble profession.

Later in July, candidates applying to the Institut de Formation des Aides‑Soignants in La Réunion reported that a computer error had moved them from the admitted list back to the waiting list. The CHU of La Réunion acknowledged the technical fault, announced a verification process, opened a hotline, and said each case would be reviewed individually to correct the results.
