France's social unrest prompts calls for Israeli immigration strategy

Recent protests and incidents of antisemitism in French cities, including Paris, Lille, and Marseille, have reignited discussions regarding the future of the French Jewish community. With approximately 500,000 Jewish residents, France hosts the largest Jewish community in Europe.

Rising social tensions, political instability, and recent vandalism, such as an attack on a synagogue in Paris's 19th arrondissement, have led some to suggest that Israel should adopt a more proactive policy to facilitate aliyah. There are calls for the Israeli government to develop a plan capable of supporting the immigration of at least 200,000 French Jews in the coming years.

This proposal aligns with the “11th Million” initiative, a project aimed at absorbing one million Jewish immigrants over the next decade to address Israel's demographic, economic, and security challenges.
