Frances Tiafoe to headline new ATP 250 tournament in Lyon

American tennis player Frances Tiafoe has committed to participating in the inaugural Grand Prix Auvergne-Rhône-Alpes, a new ATP 250 tournament in Lyon. Scheduled to take place from October 18 to 25, 2026, the event marks a significant shift for Lyon tennis, moving from the outdoor clay courts of the Open Parc to an indoor hard-court format at the LDLC Arena in Décines-Charpieu.

Tiafoe, currently ranked 8th in the world, joins an increasingly high-profile lineup that includes Gaël Monfils, Stanislas Wawrinka, Lorenzo Musetti, and Matteo Berrettini. The tournament also features French players such as Ugo Humbert and Valentin Vacherot. This new indoor iteration aims to provide high-level competition during the dense end-of-season period as players compete for rankings and positions in the ATP Finals.
