France's Troyes and Vosges regions to host new manufacturing plants creating jobs

The Manufacture de l'Aube, a subsidiary of the luxury leather brand Maison Jean Rousseau, is set to open a permanent 2,200 m² factory in Sainte‑Savine near Troyes. The plant, expected to start operations in early 2026, aims to employ around 200 artisan‑leatherworkers within five years, with training programmes co‑funded by regional public bodies. The company, which recorded about €20 million in sales and exports to Japan, China, the UK and the US, will expand its presence in the Aube, reinforcing the area’s historic textile and leather expertise.

In the Vosges, discussions are under way about a new factory dedicated to the production of bicycles made in France. Promoters intend to localise most steps of the value chain—including frames, painting and assembly—to revive the region’s industrial base and meet growing demand for sustainable, locally‑made products. While the project remains in a preparatory stage, supporters stress its potential to create jobs and rebuild a domestic cycle‑manufacturing ecosystem.
