Francesc Garrido dies at 56 from heart attack
Spanish actor Francesc Garrido has died at the age of 56 due to a heart attack. Born in Barcelona in 1969, Garrido maintained a prolific career spanning over three decades across theatre, film, and television.
He was trained at the Institut del Teatre and the London Academy of Music and Dramatic Art (LAMDA). His theatrical work was extensive, including performances in classics by Shakespeare and Chekhov, and he was closely associated with Teatre Lliure. In cinema, he appeared in notable films such as ‘Mar adentro’, ‘Alatriste’, and ‘Smoking Room’, for which he shared the Silver Biznaga at the Malaga Film Festival.
Garrido gained widespread television popularity through roles in series such as ‘Sé quién eres’, ‘Gran Reserva’, ‘Isabel’, and ‘La novia gitana’.
