Francesca Fialdini mourns the passing of her grandmother

Italian television presenter Francesca Fialdini has announced the passing of her grandmother, Giannina, who died at the age of 99. Fialdini shared the news on Instagram, describing her grandmother as a pillar of her heart, a confidante, and a free-spirited woman.

Giannina was a significant figure in Fialdini’s public life, having been introduced to audiences during the presenter's time on the talent show ‘Ballando con le Stelle’, where she was affectionately referred to as Fialdini’s ‘consultant’.

Fialdini also honored her grandmother’s history as a member of the Apuana community, noting that she had successfully evaded German forces on three separate occasions by crossing mountains to obtain essential goods like salt and sugar.
