Francesca Michielin to release new single ‘La mia ragazza’

Italian singer Francesca Michielin is releasing a new single titled ‘La mia ragazza’ on Friday, September 25, 2026, via Columbia Records/Sony Music Italy. The track is described as a pop-rock and alt-rock song with 1980s influences, featuring guitar riffs inspired by the band The Cure.

The song explores themes of queer identity and sisterhood, drawing historical inspiration from Katherina Hetzeldorfer, who is noted as the first woman documented to have been executed for homosexuality in 1477. This historical context relates to the era of persecution preceding the formalization of the witch hunts.

Following the release, Michielin will embark on a theater tour across Italy starting in November 2026. Scheduled stops include Trento, Venice, Turin, Ancona, Florence, Bari, Bologna, Trieste, Padova, Rome, Milan, and Naples.
