Francesca Riva wins first prize at international guitar competition in Romania

Italian guitarist Francesca Riva has won the First Prize in Category VI of the “Dumitru Capoianu” international competition. The event was held as part of the 24th edition of the Transilvania International Guitar Festival at the “Gheorghe Dima” National Academy of Music in Cluj-Napoca, Romania.

Riva competed in the main category, which is open to musicians of any age and requires high levels of preparation. After passing the preliminary rounds, she reached the final alongside four other international competitors. The jury awarded her the top prize based on her technical solidity, execution precision, and interpretative sensitivity.

In addition to a monetary prize, the award includes an invitation to the next edition of the festival, where Riva may perform recitals, participate in educational activities, and serve on the jury. This victory follows a successful year for the guitarist, who has also placed in competitions in Spain, Liechtenstein, and the United States.
