Francesco Bruni joins Tudor Team Alinghi for America’s Cup
Italian helmsman Francesco Bruni is joining the Swiss Tudor Team Alinghi as skipper and helmsman. Bruni, a seven-time world champion, moves from the Luna Rossa team to prepare for the 38th America’s Cup, which is scheduled to take place in Naples in 2027.
Following his time helming Luna Rossa in Barcelona in 2024, Bruni served as a coach for the Italian team before this transfer. He will relocate to Naples, where the team is set to begin sailing on BoatOne in the Gulf of Naples this December.
Ernesto Bertarelli, owner of Tudor Team Alinghi, confirmed the acquisition, noting Bruni’s talent and energy. Luna Rossa has also acknowledged the agreement regarding Bruni’s transition to the Swiss team.
