Francesco Crotti targets improved approach speed after U20 World Championships

Italian triple jumper Francesco Crotti has shared insights into his athletic development following a fourth-place finish at the U20 World Athletics Championships in Eugene, USA. Crotti noted that while he achieved a mark of 16.24 meters, he missed the podium by only twelve centimeters.

To reach the next level, Crotti aims to improve his approach speed, citing Andy Diaz as an inspiration for this technical adjustment. He also reflected on his unconventional path to the sport, having transitioned from swimming and javelin to triple jump after his coach identified his physical suitability for jumping.

Crotti credited his performance to a dedicated support team led by coach Paolo Brambilla, emphasizing the critical role of physiotherapy and injury prevention in managing the physical demands of his specialty.
