Francesco Moffa to represent Italy at Youth Olympic Games

Italian wrestler Francesco Moffa has been selected to represent Italy in beach wrestling at the upcoming Youth Olympic Games in Senegal. The 15-year-old athlete is a member of the Fiamme Oro Youth Section of the State Police in Campobasso.

Moffa will compete in the 80 kg category. His selection follows a successful year in which he earned two silver medals at the Italian Under 15 and Under 17 Greco-Roman wrestling championships and received three call-ups to the Italian National Team.

The Youth Olympic Games in Dakar are scheduled to take place from October 31 to November 13, featuring approximately 2,700 athletes aged 15 to 18. The inclusion of beach wrestling in the program serves as a significant test for the sport's potential future inclusion in the main Olympic program.
