Francesco Passaro wins Internazionali di Sicilia Challenger title

Francesco Passaro has won his fourth career Challenger title at the Internazionali di Sicilia in Palermo. The Italian player secured the victory in a demanding final lasting nearly two hours and forty minutes, defeating Czech player Jonas Forejtek with a score of 6-3, 6-7, 7-6.

This win marks a significant moment for Passaro, currently ranked 229th in the world, following a difficult period. He dedicated the title to his recently deceased father. The tournament, a Challenger 50 event with a prize pool of 56,700 euros, awarded 50 ATP points to the winner.

The 53rd edition of the championships also signaled the return of professional international tennis to the Circolo Tennis Palermo after a twenty-year absence, coinciding with the club's centenary year.
