Francesco Pira named Honorary Member of Circolo della Stampa della Locride

Francesco Pira, an Associate Professor of Sociology at the University of Messina, will be named an Honorary Member of the Circolo della Stampa della Locride. The recognition was decided unanimously by the organization's board.

The title will be presented on August 23, 2026, in Roccella Jonica during the presentation of the book ‘Conversazioni sull’umanità con Francesco Pira’ by Pietro Salvatore Reina. The event, held at the ex Convento dei Minimi, will feature a dialogue involving Professor Pira and several academic figures, including Francesco Rao, Ciro Romano, and Rocco Romeo.

Circolo President Francesco Sorgiovanni noted that Pira is being honored for his contributions as both a scholar of the sociology of communication and his work as a journalist and commentator.
