Francesco Totti joins Maxima Roma basketball team as consultant

Francesco Totti, the former captain and icon of AS Roma, has officially joined the Maxima Roma basketball team as a board consultant. The club, which will compete in the Italian Serie A1 after acquiring the sporting title of Brescia, aims to establish Rome as a major center for European basketball.

Totti, 49, will focus on fan base development and social responsibility projects. According to reports from La Gazzetta dello Sport, he has signed a three-year contract with an annual salary exceeding 1 million euros. He joins another prominent figure of Roman football, Ciro Immobile, in this new sporting venture.

Totti stated that he was looking for new challenges and was immediately convinced by the project's goal to build a lasting identity that the people of Rome can support and take pride in.
