Francis Coquelin hospitalized after severe head collision

Former Arsenal midfielder Francis Coquelin was rushed to the hospital following a severe head collision during a Ligue 2 match between Stade Lavallois and FC Nantes. The incident occurred early in the game when Coquelin collided with Wilitty Younoussa.

Medical personnel and Red Cross volunteers attended to Coquelin on the pitch before he was transported for urgent care. Reports indicate that the 35-year-old sustained serious injuries, including a broken eye socket, several facial bone fractures, and a broken rib. Younoussa also required assistance and was carried off the field on a stretcher.

Coquelin, who was playing in his first start since returning to his former club, is expected to face a recovery period lasting several months.
