Francisc Mandrucz charged with human trafficking and brothel-keeping

Francisc Mandrucz, a 40-year-old Romanian national, has appeared before Judge Ciaran Liddy at a special sitting of the Letterkenny District Court. He faces multiple charges following a long-running investigation by the Donegal division detective branch into human trafficking and controlled prostitution.

Mandrucz is accused of managing or assisting in the management of brothels at two locations in Letterkenny between December 2017 and August 2025. The court heard that seven welfare checks conducted at apartments owned by Mandrucz consistently found both male and female prostitutes on the premises.

Additional charges include organising prostitution by controlling the activities of more than one prostitute, human trafficking a woman between October 2021 and July 2022, and two counts of money laundering involving sums of €15,790 and €5,980.
