Francisca Cadenas murder investigation reveals remains hidden under neighbor's patio

Investigators have released details regarding the 2017 murder of Francisca Cadenas in Hornachos, Badajoz, whose remains were discovered by the Guardia Civil in March 2026. The victim's body was found dismembered and buried in a pit beneath the patio of her neighbors, brothers Julián and Manuel González.

Forensic reports from the UCO and the Criminalistics Eye Inspection Team contradict the defense's claim that the death was accidental. Evidence shows the victim's wrists were bound with cable ties and she had been gagged. Investigators suggest the motive may have been sexual obsession. The crime scene was described as being in a state of extreme chaos and filth, with the patio area covered by planters, washing machines, and gas canisters to conceal the burial site.

Authorities are scheduled to conduct a crime reconstruction in Hornachos on September 14. The brothers remain in custody facing charges of murder involving extreme violence.
