Francisca de Pedraza Seminar explores Golden Age women in Guadalajara

The second Francisca de Pedraza Seminar, titled ‘Power and Discord: the dialectic of female power and conflict as a sign of sovereignty,’ was held at the Palacio del Infantado in Guadalajara. The event drew more than 160 attendees for sessions focused on historical debate and the role of women during the Spanish Golden Age.

The Francisca de Pedraza Association, which is celebrating ten years of feminist, cultural, and historiographical activism, organized the seminar with support from the Junta de Comunidades de Castilla-La Mancha through the Institute for Women. Other participating institutions included the University of Alcalá, the Autonomous University of Madrid, UNED, and the Instituto Cervantes.
