Francisca Valenzuela releases motherhood‑focused album “Maldita”

Chilean singer‑songwriter Francisca Valenzuela announced the release of her new album Maldita, scheduled for 30 July. The record confronts idealised views of motherhood, addressing vulnerability, frustration, anger and contradictions many women encounter during pregnancy and postpartum. Tracks such as “Bugambilia” portray difficult postpartum moments, while “Extracción” and “Debería tomar más agua” explore lactation challenges, and “MALACARA” validates female anger. Valenzuela said the project aims to give an honest voice to feelings often hidden by social expectations, noting that “las mamás también son mujeres.” The album launch will be supported by an international tour visiting Chile, the United States, Mexico and Spain.
