Franciscan community events scheduled in Argentina and Colombia

Various Franciscan community activities are set to take place in late October. In San Rafael, Argentina, the San Antonio de Padua parish is organizing the Peña Franciscana at the San Antonio de Padua school on October 31. This event combines music, specifically folklore, with community solidarity. Proceeds and non-perishable food donations from the event will support missionary work in northern Salta, near the Bolivian border, and contribute to the Noche de la Caridad.

In Valledupar, Colombia, the Capuchin Minor Brothers and the Tres Avemarías parish are hosting the Franciscan Congress, titled “Francisco, una semilla de vida eterna,” from October 30 to November 1. Held in observance of the Holy Franciscan Year, the congress focuses on the spirituality of Saint Francis of Assisi, emphasizing themes of fraternity, peace, and service to the Church.
