Franciscan pilgrims travel from Oradea to Deva for new convent installation
Members of the Order of Third Order Franciscans from Oradea completed a 400-kilometer pilgrimage to Deva to attend the installation of Franciscan brothers Mihai Blăjuț, Ionuț Cherecheș, and Ionică Demșa at a new convent.
The event included a Greek Catholic Hierarchical Holy Liturgy presided over by Bishop Ioan of Lugoj, with 15 priests in attendance. During the ceremony, Damian Gheorghe Pătrașcu, the superior of the ‘St. Joseph’ Franciscan Province in Romania, offered congratulations to the newly appointed priests.
Following the religious services, the group visited the Deva Fortress, a national historical landmark, for a guided tour of the medieval site.
