Francisco Beltrão authorities close supermarket butcher shop
Sanitary surveillance authorities in Francisco Beltrão have intensified inspections to protect consumer health, initiating 63 Administrative Sanitary Processes (PAS) in just 18 months. This figure exceeds the total of 58 processes recorded over the previous nine years between 2016 and 2024.
During a recent operation titled ‘Operação Tempero Secreto’, officials preventedively closed the butcher shop area of a local supermarket. The inspection revealed multiple sanitary irregularities and inadequate hygiene conditions that posed an imminent risk to meat products and consumer health. Although the establishment had undergone a previous inspection and implemented some changes earlier this year, a routine follow-up confirmed the recurrence of these issues.
Dalva Colling, director of the Department of Health Surveillance, stated that the primary goal of these actions is educational rather than punitive, aiming to correct non-conformities and raise awareness among establishment owners.
