Francisco Beltrão hosts meetings on emergency prevention and public protection

Municipal leaders and representatives from the Public Ministry of Paraná (MPPR) met at the Association of Municipalities of Southwest Paraná (Amsop) to strengthen cooperation regarding emergency response and public protection.

One key focus of the meeting was preparing for the potential effects of El Niño during 2026 and 2027, specifically addressing the possibility of a ‘Super El Niño’. Francisco Beltrão Mayor Antonio Pedron highlighted the city's hydrographic characteristics and the importance of dialogue between local managers and high-level state authorities to address regional demands.

Additionally, the MPPR is conducting the ‘MP em Movimento’ initiative in Francisco Beltrão. This program aims to bring the institution's senior administration closer to interior prosecutor offices. The current focus includes the protection of children and adolescents, involving visits to local care units, as well as addressing issues related to prisons, the environment, mental health, and drug policies.
