Francisco Beltrão to provide free school supplies starting 2027

A new law in Francisco Beltrão will provide free school supplies to all students in the municipal school system and CMEIs starting in 2027. Authored by council members Cidão Barbiero and Tiago Correa, the program aims to support approximately 8,500 children.

The municipality plans to invest R$ 1,275,000, providing a voucher of R$ 150.00 per enrolled student. To support the local economy, only bookstores located within Francisco Beltrão are eligible to participate in the program. Parents will receive the school kit vouchers from the Municipal Secretariat of Education, allowing them to choose from accredited local businesses.

A public call for interested local companies is open until October 7. The vouchers are expected to be made available in December.
