Francisco Calvo likely to rejoin Costa Rica national team

Costa Rican defender Francisco Calvo is expected to be among the first called up by coach Fernando Batista for the upcoming FIFA international window. Calvo, currently playing for Nacional in Uruguay, has experienced a significant surge in form, scoring in his last two matches, including a goal in the Uruguayan classic.

Nacional coach Daniel Carreño indicated that he is in dialogue with the Costa Rican coaching staff regarding Calvo's availability, noting that the player is in excellent condition. A call-up would mean Calvo would miss certain domestic matches for Nacional to participate in the Nations League.

The Costa Rican national team is scheduled to face Curaçao on September 24, followed by matches against Haiti and Nicaragua in early October.
