Francisco Cerúndolo eliminated by Arthur Gea in Los Cabos quarterfinal

World No. 20 Argentine Francisco Cerúndolo was knocked out of the ATP 250 Los Cabos tournament in Mexico after a 6‑7(11), 6‑4, 6‑0 defeat to 21‑year‑old Frenchman Arthur Gea. The match lasted just under three hours and ended Cerúndolo’s chance to claim his sixth career title and third of the season, following his recent victories at the Argentina Open and the Queen’s grass event.

Gea, ranked 127th, advanced to his first ATP semifinal and will meet Hong‑kong‑born Coleman Wong, who defeated Jenson Brooksby earlier in the day. Cerúndolo will head to the North American swing, targeting the Masters 1000 event in Toronto next week.
