Francisco Conceição suspended for three matches by UEFA

UEFA has issued a three-match suspension to Portuguese international Francisco Conceição following an incident during a Nations League match against Norway. The disciplinary action, handed down by UEFA’s Control, Ethics and Disciplinary Committee, stems from allegations of insults and abusive language directed at the referee during Portugal’s 2-1 victory at the Estádio do Dragão.

Reports indicate that the 23-year-old Juventus player received two consecutive yellow cards in the 86th minute and subsequently engaged in a confrontation with the fourth official while heading to the locker rooms. The suspension will cause Conceição to miss Portugal’s upcoming fixtures against Denmark on November 14 and Wales on November 17, as well as the first leg of the Nations League quarter-finals scheduled for March.

The Portuguese Football Federation (FPF) has announced its intention to appeal the decision, seeking to reduce or annul the penalty. While the player is currently managing an injury, the disciplinary ruling ensures he will be unavailable for the specified international windows.
