Francisco Damorim qualifies for US Open Junior main draw
Brazilian tennis player Francisco Damorim has qualified for the main draw of the US Open Junior Grand Slam for the first time in his career. The 18-year-old, currently ranked 100th in the world in the junior category, secured his spot by defeating American Tyler Lee in a three-set match with scores of 7/6(5), 0/6, and 10-7 in a match tie-break.
Damorim, who trains at Juan Carlos Ferrero's academy in Spain, previously defeated Max Villar in the opening qualifying round. He joins several other Brazilian representatives in the tournament, including Luis Guto Miguel, Leonardo Storck, and Pedro Henrique Chabalgoity in the men's draw, as well as Victória Barros and Nauhany Silva in the women's draw.
