Francisco Lindor hits 300th career home run
Francisco Lindor has reached a major career milestone, hitting his 300th career home run during the New York Mets’ 6-4 loss to the Washington Nationals. The achievement makes him the seventh Puerto Rican-born player in MLB history to reach the 300 home run mark, joining players such as Carlos Delgado and Carlos Beltrán.
Lindor also becomes the first shortstop in MLB history to record at least 300 home runs and 200 stolen bases, currently sitting at 219 stolen bases. The historic home run occurred in the second inning against pitcher D.J. Herz, traveling 409 feet to left field.
Of his 300 career home runs, 138 were hit during his time with the Cleveland Guardians. Lindor expressed gratitude to his coaches and trainers for his longevity and health, noting that reaching this number required staying on the field for a long period.
