Francisco Trujillo provides mobility aid to disabled people
Francisco “Kiko” Trujillo, an industrial engineer from Nogales, Mexico, has dedicated his career to providing medical assistance and mobility solutions to people with disabilities along the US-Mexico border.
In 2008, Trujillo partnered with Dr. Burris “Duke” Duncan, a pediatrician from Tucson, Arizona, to address the lack of prosthetic and orthotic devices in Mexico. The collaboration focused on providing all-terrain wheelchairs to individuals whose disabilities prevented them from working or maintaining self-care. Trujillo noted that many health programs in Mexico do not provide these essential devices, leaving many people to rely on crutches or live without necessary mobility aids.
