Francisco Uría leads Institute of Banking and Finance

Francisco Uría, a prominent figure in the Spanish banking sector, currently serves as the Director General of the Institute of Banking and Finance. This institution operates as a joint venture between CUNEF Universidad and the Centro de Análisis y Estudios del Instituto Español de Analistas.

Uría's professional background includes serving as a State Lawyer in 1991 and holding high-level positions in the Spanish Tax Agency and the Ministry of Development and Finance. He transitioned to the private sector in 2004, working with the Spanish Banking Association (AEB) and spending 15 years at KPMG, where he served as a partner responsible for the financial sector in Spain and later as the global partner for banking and capital markets.
