Franciszek Szczyrba wins SGP3 world title, coach cautions against hype
Fourteen‑year‑old speedway rider Franciszek Szczyrba of Rybnik claimed the SGP3 250cc world championship in Wrocław on 19 June, securing his second world title after a previous win in a different class. He accumulated 14 points over five heats, losing only once, and celebrated the victory with remarks about his excitement and future goals, including the Polish and European championships.
Polish national team coach Stanisław Chomski addressed the media after the race, urging that "we don't pump up the balloon" and stressing that talent alone is insufficient. He highlighted the importance of hard work, technical knowledge of the bike, and realistic expectations as Szczyrba moves from junior success toward senior competition.
