Franco Colapinto condemns online abuse targeting Alpine team

Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto has released a video statement urging his fanbase to end the wave of online abuse directed at rival drivers and his own team members. Following the Singapore Grand Prix, the Argentine driver expressed that the hostility had crossed certain lines, particularly regarding the treatment of Alpine mechanics and engineers.

Colapinto noted that while he is grateful for his supporters, every sport has a “hate side” consisting of individuals who post abusive comments that do not assist athletes in performing at their best. He emphasized that the abuse is personally painful because he works daily with the engineers and mechanics who are being targeted by fans who often unfairly blame them for poor session results.
