Fernando Alonso finishes 14th at Hungarian Grand Prix

Fernando Alonso ended the 2026 Hungarian Grand Prix in 14th place, driving an Aston Martin AMR26 that has struggled all season. The British team has accumulated only one point in the constructors' championship and, despite showing some race‑pace improvements that allowed it to out‑run Alpine in pure speed, it remains far from the performance needed to challenge for points.

Meanwhile, Argentine driver Franco Colapinto marked his 28th consecutive Formula 1 start, a record that places him among the sport’s top‑11 drivers with such a streak. He has already scored 19 championship points this year, highlighted by a seventh‑place finish in Miami and a sixth in Canada. Colapinto will now take the summer break, looking forward to rest, training and a return to the Alpine garage for the Dutch Grand Prix, which will be run as a sprint weekend.

Alpine teammate Pierre Gasly also plans to spend the pause in France with his family, playing padel and golf, while the team works on updates aimed at improving its competitiveness for the second half of the season.
