Franco Colapinto urges fans to stop online attacks on F1 rivals and team
Formula 1 driver Franco Colapinto has issued a public plea to his followers to cease online attacks and harassment directed at rival drivers, his teammate Pierre Gasly, and members of the Alpine F1 Team. In a video message shared on social media, Colapinto warned that such behavior is counterproductive, stating, “I know you think you are defending me, but you are generating the opposite. They do not help me, nor my future.”
The driver noted that while he is deeply grateful for the intense support from his fans, the toxicity has crossed a line, affecting the mechanics, engineers, and colleagues he works with daily. He announced a temporary break from social media to focus on his professional performance and upcoming races.
This call for civility comes as the F1 season approaches its American leg, including races in the United States, Mexico, and Brazil. Meanwhile, Alpine management, including Flavio Briatore, has previously addressed the need for calm following strategic tensions and race results, such as the recent Grand Prix in Singapore.
