Franco Colapinto Wins Formula 1 Best Overtake of August 2026

Alpine driver Franco Colapinto was voted by Formula 1 fans as the author of the best overtaking move of August 2026, receiving 56 % of the votes. The award recognises his double pass on lap 31 of the Belgian Grand Prix at Spa‑Francorchamps, where he overtook Liam Lawson and teammate Pierre Gasly in a single manoeuvre.

The race ended with Colapinto in tenth place, earning a championship point and bringing his season total to 19 points, placing him 12th in the drivers’ standings. The accolade comes during the summer break, and the driver was also listed among the top‑10 performers of the first half of the season. Formula 1 will resume with the Dutch Grand Prix at Zandvoort later in August.
