Franco Morbidelli likely to join Ducati WorldSBK team in 2027

Franco Morbidelli has provided an informal confirmation regarding his move from MotoGP to the WorldSBK championship for the 2027 season. During the WorldSBK round at Cremona, the Italian rider commented on the excitement of being in the environment that will be his ‘world’ next year.

Ducati CEO Claudio Domenicali supported these reports, stating that Morbidelli will ‘most probably’ join Iker Lecuona on the official Ducati team in 2027. While an official announcement has not yet been made, team management suggested that news regarding the second rider could be expected soon. The move follows Nicolò Bulega’s championship success and aligns with upcoming rule changes for the 2027 season.
